Gimli is a beautiful lake town located along the shoreline of Lake Winnipeg complete with sandy beaches, great fishing and the Icelandic Festival of Manitoba. On March 18, 2013, the new standalone Liquor Mart opened its doors. The new store is considerably larger at 6,500 square feet (versus 2,400 square feet) giving residents of Gimli a full selection of products.
